Recorded in April 2006, these two videos demonstrates a number of applications written to cause specific performance problems. We explore how to diagnose the problem and use this to dive deep to explain how the operating system works. Part 2 deals with Memory issues. We explore how the memory subsystem works inside the OS kernel. Concepts such "Virtual versus Process Memory", "Working Sets", the "Balance Manager" are explained. How "Paging" works is fully exposed, including an understanding of good and bad paging. We explore what dll rebasing is and what third party products do to help improve memory usage.
